Image description: Hanging sign above Lombard Street EC3, City of London.
The name of the street commemorates Italian financiers who were important to the economy of the 14th century. Such hanging signs were banned by Charles II (seemingly depicted in this sign), but brought back for the coronation of Edward VII.
