Image description: Royal National Theatre building on the South Bank, London.
The Royal National Theatre (1976) houses the Olivier, Lyttelton and Cottesloe theatres. It is an interesting venue even for non-theatre-goers, with excellent art, jewellery and photographic exhibitions, good cafes and restaurants, theatre book shop and live foyer music.
The theatre was designed by Modernist architect Sir Denys Lasdun (1914-2001).
