Image description: Eros (Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain) against a blue sky, with two diving figures in distance, Piccadilly Circus, London.
This Art Nouveau statue and fountain was designed by Sir Alfred Gilbert (1893) and represents the Angel of Christian Charity (not Eros the God of Love). It was the first London statue cast in aluminium.
