Image description: Black and white cottage doorway at the church gate, Cookham, River Thames, Berkshire.
Cookham is an ancient site: a Roman road - the Camlet Way - which ran from St Albans to Silchester, crossed the Thames at Cookham. Today much of the land around this pretty riverside village is owned, and thereby preserved, by the National Trust.
