Image description: Family arms on a tablet in All Saints Church, Marlow, from which it is thought that the American national flag was derived, Marlow, River Thames, Buckinghamshire.

The stars and stripes on this monument to William Horsepool are very clear. Horsepool - a 'gent' and member of the honorable society of Gray's Inn - married Mary Washington, the great great aunt of George Washington, first president of the United States of America.
