These photographs form part of the London Image Collection and cover aspects of west London - which, for simplicity's sake, I take as London upstream of Battersea to Hammersmith and Kew. For Kingston-on-Thames, please see Kingston in the River Thames Image Collection.
Pictures in the west London section depict the old Battersea Power Station (viewed from within Battersea Park across a bowling green, and from Battersea Park Road at sunset), Chelsea Bridge lampost heads in the form of a ship over coats-of-arms, the subtle, pastel-coloured Albert Bridge and a beautiful houseboat barge moored on the Thames with Chelsea Embankment behind.
There are a number of photographs of the Buddhist Peace Pagoda beside the Thames in Battersea Park.
Also find images of the new Albion Riverside building (a glass and aluminium, curvaceous, asymmetrical crescent designed by Foster and Partners, completed in 2004, overlooking the Thames and Battersea Bridge), people enjoying the sun at a Thameside pub at Hammersmith and houseboats at low tide moored above Hammersmith Bridge.
