These photographs form part of the River Thames Image Collection and cover the rural Thames from Radcot Lock to Godstow Abbey just outside Oxford.
Here are some images of a tranquil Thames reflecting bare trees and surrounding pastures and a series of atmospheric images taken of Pink Hill Lock enshrouded in morning mist. Depicted are swans in flight skimming the river's surface, the surrounding trees, grasses, hedges and weir fencing reflected in the still river, and a single lamp post amongst trees at the centre of the little island associated with the lock – which reminds me of the lamp post at the heart of Narnia – all of which emphasise the quiet stillness of this part of the Thames.
The other images are of various locks along this stretch of the River Thames.
