General information
This Terms of Use & Privacy Policy page is meant to help you understand:
  •     i) Copyright of the website's materials
  •     ii) Data that is collected, why it is collected and what is done with it.

This is a portfolio site whose main intention is to deliver a collection of my photographs and writings for your personal enjoyment. It also tells you about my illustrated book Narrowboat Life and where to buy it, and how to have your boat professionally photographed if you're so inclined.

Personal Data and How it is Protected
Any personal details you supply to me – whether via cookies or during the course of enquiry or conducting business through the website or by email, telephone or post – will be held in the strictest confidence. No information will be shared with any third parties.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file of numbers and letters placed on your computer that assigns you a unique user ID.

The only cookies used on this website are for web-stats – to give me a glimpse of what's popular and what's not, and to occasionally nudge the site's design to improve your visiting experience.

There are no ad-tracking cookies, Google Analytics, third-party or preference cookies. It's just not that kind of place.

If you're in Europe, EU law requires express permission to store and retrieve data about your browsing habits – thus the annoying 'cookie consent banner' seen at the bottom of the page. If you are happy to consent, the banner will disappear for 90 days worth of subsequent visits. If you object, it's time to visit someone else's boating and waterways website.

Removing Cookies
All web browsers allow you to turn off and remove cookies through 'Preferences', 'Tools', 'Options', 'Privacy' or similar settings.
Scope
The Terms of Use & Privacy Policy only apply to this site. Where jimbatty.com or jimbatty.co.uk provide convenient links to other web sites, be aware that when you move to another site these conditions no longer apply.

Jim Batty reserves the right to change the Terms of Use & Privacy Policy, but will not do so without posting it here on this site. It is your responsibility to periodically revisit this page to keep abreast of site use, copyright information and how your personal details will be handled.
